For some annoying reason the audio device is tied in to the Legacy BIOS or MBR Partition, I don’t freaking know honestly. The fix: The only way to get the audio (Cirrus Logic) to work in Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 is to install Windows 7 via a CD (Yes, I had to burn a Windows 7 OEM CD just for this), selecting WINDOWS CD when holding alt/option key instead of the EFI Boot. After the installation and the Bootcamp drivers installtion, everything works except for the audio. I have tried everything as far as reinstalling Windows 8.1 and 10 via EFI through a USB Boot. Under device manager, the audio shows an error Code 10, device cannot start. To whoever that is trying to dual boot and install Windows 8.1 or 10 on the Macbook Pros, you would notice that the audio is not working. Full functional! You just hold tje alt/option when booting up to choose the OS. One with MacOS Mojave and the other is Windows 10. Just wanted to share my success on installing Windows 10 without bootcamp on my 2011 Macbook Pro A1278 MC700LL/A.
